scrap n heal
Welcome to my blog. I use scrapping as a way to get my mind off my health issues. It has such a calming effect and I can escape into my own little creative world while my body is healing. I've been told I am an encouragement to others and I enjoy telling others how God has healed my body. Invite others so they can be encouraged too!

Book: How To Handle Your Emotions by June Hunt
Search Amazon.com Kindle Store for how to handle your emotions
This is the book I found in a local store. I am finding it to be very helpful. Maybe you or someone you know could benefit from reading it in paperback or on a kindle. The book discusses topics such as anger, depression, fear, grief recovery, rejection and self worth. Each section reviews definitions, characteristics, causes and steps to the solution.

Leave a comment, Receive a FREE Card
I am going to start posting my greeting card creations on this blog. Creating these cards is very theraputic for me and relieves a lot of stress. I would love to send you a FREE card. All you have to do is leave a comment and request the type of card you would like to receive, along with your address. For example, you may want a birthday card for an adult or a child, thinking of you, get well, contrats, miss you, love you, etc. I'm sure you get the picture! Can't wait to hear from you!
This Battle Is Not Yours, but God's!
Yesterday I was feeling kind of down. So I made sure I was using what I learned in my group therapy sessions. I went to You Tube and found some music from Joel Osteens church. It's about an hour long and I let it play while I fell asleep.
One thing I need to remember is to keep my focus on Jesus. Jesus is bigger than any of our problems and He has anwers that we might not be able to find. Take time to listen to the music I post on my blog. They should help you forget the things that stress you out and cause depression or anxiety. I found another song that I thought would be helpful too called, "The Battle Is Not Yours." I can't always fight my battles in my own strength even though I would like to sometimes. It's time for me to hand over my battles to Jesus. In Him I can have perfect peace!

Depression: The "Silent" Disease
As a result of my numerous health issues and not being able to work, my depression has been mounting. Last week I was at the end of what I could handle. I decided to go to the ER and they sent me to a psychiatric hospital. I know. You're probably thinking "nut house". That's why I call depression the "silent" disease. No one wants to talk about it or dare go to a hospital to get help. The help I received was amazing and I'm looking forward to getting my mind and emotions back on track. I am going to work diligently to post every day. One of the coping skills I have been taught is to journal. So I thought, a blog is an on-line journal. I hope these posting will either help you or someone you know.
"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God" Psalm 42:5-6; 43:5
